Normcore first gained attention as an anti-fashion trend whose adherents rejected not just fashion choice as a marker of individuality, but also the overall cultural emphasis on individuality. As a fashion trend, it was short-lived, but applying Normcore to the realm of urban planning, we hope to avoid the types of interventions that create 'uniqueness' as a selling point for neighborhoods. Alternative, we try to focus on the more day-to-day aspects of community planning - ensuring that residents are supported by the necessary infrastructure to ensure equitable access to essential services.
